Questions about Teacher Evaluation forms

I have invited my teachers and guidance counselor to write Teacher Evaluation (TE) for me. However, I have just added 3 colleges to "My Colleges" list, and I plan to add some more colleges later. So if now my teachers fill out the TE forms and submit, will they (TE) only go to the 3 colleges that are currently on my list? If I later add some more colleges, do my teachers need to submit TE again? I don't want to bother my teachers by making them fill out TE forms for several times...

Also, what will happen if my teachers submit the TE forms before I submit my app? Is that OK or do they have to wait until after I submit the app to the college?

Please help me as the deadlines are coming. Thank you in advance.

I am not sure about the answer to this either … my S added an add’l school to the common app a month after his teacher loaded his recommendation. Should he assume that he doesn’t need to have the teacher re-submit that recommendation for the new school he added? Or does the teacher get an email that he has to click on to re-send the same recommendation?

Somebody please help me…

Once submitted, your counselor’s School Report will become available to each college to which you have applied and also to those you’ll apply to in the future. The same holds true for your teachers, with the slight twist that the Teacher Evaluations will be sent only to those colleges to which you have assigned the teacher.

Thank you, WinstonWolfe.

Here’s another heads up about teacher recommendations. If you have added a teacher as a recommender, you will see them listed in the School forms section. You still have to “Add Recommendation” and select that teacher (then “Save”) for each school that you want to receive it. Once the recommendation is in the online commonapp system, if you want to add a new school later, you follow what I said above to make sure that new school is now associated with a recommendation and can therefore download it.

this question might seem a little stupid, Do I have to put every college i plan on enrolling in as a recipient on the CollegeBoard website? If yes, can’t I just put my scores on their application?

last question, how does my teacher add recommendation? Do I give my account and password and he goes on and fills the teacher’s evaluation form or do I just scan it and upload it on Commonapp (after I swore I wouldn’t read it)

BB, when you talk about CollegeBoard I assume you are referring to your SAT scores, so it that is the case, Yes, you have to send your official SAT scores to every college that you plan to apply.

For your common app teacher recommendations, here’s what you do.
1. Ask your teacher if they would be willing to recommend you for college applications.
 2. Give them a brief summary of who you are, big things that you have done, and reasons why you think they are a good recommender for you. Some schools have forms you fill out with this info. Ask them if they will do the recommendation online, or if they would like hardcopy forms (and if so, see step 5).
 3. Add their name to the common app in the School Forms section. You will also need their email.
 4. Select the college you want the recommendation to be sent, and in the School Forms section for that college, select “Add Recommendation”.
 5. Your teacher will get an email and can respond online. If they don’t want to respond online, then you will have to provide them the PDF Teacher form with a stamped/addressed envelop so they can drop that into the mail.
5a)Make sure you have the correct address on the envelope for application materials; it may not be the same address that the school puts on the main page of their website.
5b) To print the PDF form, go to the common app main page. Select “Download forms”, then select “Teacher Evaluation Only: PDF | Word”. Select PDF, and then fill in your personal information on the form on-line. You print out as many copies as you need to send to schools, but the basic info is nice and neat as if you typed it.

6) If you want to associate this recommendation to another school, select that school, then go to School Forms, then select Add Recommendation again, then Save. You will have to do this for each school that should receive this recommendation.
That’s it. Good luck!

Ok, last question. Do I send the scores after sending the application or before sending the application?? or it doesn’t make a difference?

BB, it does not make a difference, but don’t send them on the date that all the application materials are due … if the scores already exist, request that they be sent a week or two in advance of a due date so you have all your materials in by the deadline with time to spare. If you are about to take a test, and you know which schools you want to send your result, you can list 4 schools for free, and then pay for any add’l schools that you would want your scores sent. The scores will be released to those colleges you requested around the same time that you know your result.

I want to get hardcopies of my TE forms. I have filled out my details. The problem I have is that my reco teacher has a really bad handwriting. This is worrying me a little. Is there any way I can make my teacher type in his recos and send them as hard copies to my school counselor???
And i don’t want to send them online.

Hey I have a question : how many times does a teacher fill out TE forms? Only just once? Or as many as there’re colleges applications?
For example, I applied to 5 different colleges. Does my teacher need to fill out and write 5 different recommandations or just one that will be sent out to all 5 colleges?

THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING! I need info ASAP!!
