Questions about the Air Force Academy

I am currently a junior trying to get into the academy and are aware of everything I have to do, I just have some questions.
What exactly is the LOA? is it letter of assurance or appointment?
Also, I am able to get a presidential nomination. Does the nomination really mean anything? how many people usually get a presidential nomination and then try to go to the academy?
Lastly, I received an award called the Honor roll rotary Club, does this mean anything for college or something to put on my resume?

thanks guys

LOA = Letter Of Assurance. If all other requirements are met (usually specified in the letter) including a nomination…then you are assured of an Appointment. Difficult to get - supposedly 5% of applicants receive one.
