Questions about the Brown/RISD program

I'm a Chinese student who is sincerely interested in both graphic design/fine arts and literature, and the Brown/RISD dual degree program definitely proves a huge attraction to me. Just, will the dual degree limits my choice of courses? I mean, if I have to stay two years respectively in two schools, will it still be possible for me to choose from a wide range of courses during my college years?

e.g. If I study arts in RISD, majored in cognitive science in Brown ( since what my family emphasize on), do I still have to choice to take non-major courses like literature, classics, linguistics&religion?

Thanks for everyone who read this post&replly! :)

Yes. You essentially spend each year at a different institution focusing there and have the time to complete any full, normal degree. The trick is they typically don’t allow you to do an Sc.B. so that you can get the full range of courses, IIRC. Post this on the Brown forum, there are people other than me who know more about it on there.
