Do most students go with their parents?

Do most students fly to TX?

How do most students get to the campus from the airport?

Parents are not part of orientation. Nope, definitely not. You can get dropped off by them and they can spend the day doing some Parent’s BBQ, but realistically, you’ll be solo with all the other hundreds of freshmen!

If you’re flying here, well I’m not sure. I’m in-state from about an hour away from Austin so I drove.

From the airport (Bergstrom?) - taxi; and then once you get to campus or else there’s the city bus, but that’s a little more risqu

Thanks!
Is the summer orientation necessary?
I heard there’s one in August right before the school starts?

Oh, and If there is one in August, do i have to pay for that one too?

Just FYI a taxi will cost you $30 so that’s $60 gone if you have to return home afterwards.

I would take the airport flyer bus. You’ll get dropped off near the stadium and Jester and I think it’s 75 cents to ride it. It’s free if you have a UT ID so after orientation if you go back home you could utilize that.

Honestly I think the taxis are more ‘risque’ than the buses but whatever floats your boat.

Can anyone answer my second question? :}

I believe there are some orientations in the early weeks of August, yes. But no, go to the earliest!! As an incoming freshman, you’re all at the bottom of the totem pole for registering for classes, the earlier you go to orientation, the earlier of a chance you get to register!

Get your student ID through the mail if you can. The metro transportation system is free for UT students.

But the summer orientation is
185$ plus $plane ticket cost.
While the one in August is free. And ill probably drive up there.

So…
It is a dillema.
