Questions About the SAT IIs and Suggestions?

Until earlier this month, I did not think I would have to take SAT subject tests because my regular SAT was far below the average of the only school that required them out of the ones I was interested in. My October SAT scores came back higher than I expected them to be, and I just retook the SAT again today to raise my math.

I now want to take SAT Subject tests in December, and I will have to do well on them because December is kind of my last chance to take them before regular decision is due. I have a few questions because I really do not know much about them.

I know it is suggested that you should take at least one quantitative and one qualitative test, but I think I will have the best chance at doing well on the qualitative tests. Will submitting only qualitative tests to a college reflect poorly on me?

Also, I want to take exams in subjects for which I have already taken the AP exam: Spanish, Literature, and US History. I received all 4s and 5s on those exams, so I am wondering how do the subject tests differ from AP tests in terms of content and difficulty? If I did well on the AP exams and just brush up on some dates (for history) and vocab and grammar (for Spanish and English) should I do pretty well?

I am pretty new at looking into SAT IIs, so thank you in advance for answering my questions.

From what I’ve seen irl and on this forum, if you’ve taken the AP version of the class and did well on the test you’ll probably do well on the subject test.

I recommend buying this book and trying out a few of the practice tests in there to see what you need to study.
