Questions about the school

I'm thinking, at this moment, that I'm probably going to go to Illinois. I have some questions about the school, in general, though.
--How difficult is this school (compared to other colleges)? I want to go to graduate school, and I've heard that admission there is based almost completely on my gpa. I'm a English major, at this moment.
--I'm in as a LAS admit, and I probably want to keep my major. I kind of want to do business, too, though, so I was wondering if I could do a double major across two schools. I know that I'll have to get admitted into the business school (which is probably considerably more difficult than getting into LAS?), but if I could, is a double major across two schools possible?
--What are the advantages of being a James Scholar (other than priority registration)?
--How are the dorms? (the room they showed seemed kind of smallish) What dorms should I choose? How does private housing and university housing differ?
