Hi there,
I have a younger sibling applying to colleges at the end of this year, and I myself will be applying as a transfer applicant next spring. I see that there is a section on Common App for freshman applicants where they’re supposed to indicate whether they have a sibling applying to their undergraduate school the same year in which they’re applying, which I’m not sure how to respond to because I may or may not apply to that school. We’re having this issue because the deadline for freshman applicants varies from sometime in October to December, while the deadline for transfer applicants in most cases is in March. Will it be an issue if he fails to indicate that I will be applying, and then I ultimately decide to apply to that school, or vice versa? Is it enough if I contact them right after I apply that my sibling actually did apply to their school? I’m worried–or maybe I’m being a tad paranoid over minute details, but–that it may be viewed as an intentional discrepancy, when it, in fact, isn’t.
I’d appreciate your inputs. Thank you!
