Questions about the "Unofficial Transcript" Trick

So I've heard about this unofficial transcript trick where you can look up your transcript here: https://sdb.admin.washington.edu/students/uwnetid/unofficial.asp

Updated as of today, (waitlisted) people can now see if they have been accepted to UW Seattle if the link above loads, if not then you are probably rejected (or give it a couple of days). I've been waitlisted and awaiting a reply. Let me give you guys some background information.

I have taken UW classes (UW IT and UW English) in high school that have earned me some UW credit. The problem is, that I've only looked at my unofficial transcript as of today, so I have no idea if it was up (has been loaded) for quite some time already. It says on the unofficial transcript, "Date prepared: May 12, 2011" and I have "NON MATRICULATED" for both my "Class" and "Major." It also mentions all of my high school subjects completed and my Spanish level as 3, and my SAT scores. Lastly, it shows the UW classes that I have taken, my GPA in those, and credits earned.

On my "Admission Application Information," a message reads: Thank you for applying for admission to the Seattle campus of the University of Washington for autumn quarter 2011. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made on your application. If further information is needed, we will contact you via the email address listed below. Please make sure your email address is valid and check this site occasionally for information concerning your application. This message will not change unless additional information is required or until a final admission decision is made.

So here are the questions:

1: Does my unofficial transcript load because I have taken UW credit classes (in high school), or is it because I've actually been accepted (like the trick assures)?

2: Should I keep checking my Admission Application Information and watch for an update?

3: If the message does update on the Admission Application Information, what will change on the Unofficial Transcript that will let me know if I've been accepted or rejected?

Thanks to all in advance, and good luck to the rest!

I think when you are accepted you will have a student number on your unofficial transcript when it loads…

1:

The trick assures this for people who have not taken UW classes. Yours loads because you took a few courses (hence the non-matriculated student part).

2:

Yes. Some people get notified about admissions before anything online changes though; this year was slightly different (more random?)

3:

Non-Matriculated should not be there. Class should be either freshman/sophomore/etc - based on the amount of credits you have (0 - 44 = freshman, 55- 89 = sophmore, 90 - 134 = junior, 135+ = senior)

Major should be something… like pre-major, pre-science, pre-engineering, depending on what was on your application. If you had applied to an open major (ie French) it will say that major, such as French.

I have to agree with speedsolver-- if or when you’ve been accepted, “non-matriculated” would not be there. When that term disappears from the unofficial transcript, then you should get your hopes up.
