Questions about Transfer from CCC

I'll start off with a little introduction. I first posted here 2 years ago when I was a junior in HS, and I did move to California right after my graduation. Because of this I didn't really have time to apply to any University and instead decided to go to the local CC based on recommendations from here and what I read. I am still planning to major in Chemical Engineering My first semester was not the most effective since I took 2 classes which probably weren't that important, but I joined MESA(A club for math/science/engineering majors) and I think I have a better plan for my last semesters at the CC here. Anyways, my goal has always been to go to UCB, with UCSB being my second choice(Third is UT Austin). My main questions are on what classes are actually recommended by previous transfers here, since assist.org gives the minimum and then some more. (<a href="http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=GAVILAN&ria=UCB&ia=GAVILAN&oia=UCB&aay=13-14&ay=13-14&dora=CHM+ENG">http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=GAVILAN&ria=UCB&ia=GAVILAN&oia=UCB&aay=13-14&ay=13-14&dora=CHM+ENG</a>)</p>

My first semester I took Math 1A, Chem 1A, PHYS 2A and ENGR5

Math 1A and Chem 1A are comparable to the UCB courses, PHYS 2A was probably a waste since it was trig based physics and ENGR5 doesn't seem comparable to the UCB ENGR 7 course. I did mess up an got a B in Physics, so my GPA is currently a 3.750 :/

In my current semester I'm taking Math 1B, PHYS 4A(7A), Chem 1B and English 1A (R1A)

I currently have all A's and about a month left for this semester. As of now, my current plan for the last 2 semesters is:

English 1C, PHYS 4B(7B), Math 1C, Chem 12A(Ochem)

PHYS 4C(7C), Math 2, Math 2C, Chem 12B

Looking on assist.org, that is technically all the minimum requirements, but there are also BIO and ENGR courses listed. How important are those?

Lastly and a bit off-topic, it looks like I may not be able to take the courses here at my local CC for the last 2 semesters since Organic Chem and Physics 4B/4C are only offered at the same time/day -_-. Should I rather look towards Santa Cruz for a CC or San Jose? I know the traffic can be pretty bad to San Jose in the mornings.

Semi-bump. Does Berkeley want to see the Biology classes finished for a transfer in Chemical Engineering? My counselor didn’t think it was THAT bad if I didn’t take the Biology classes.

@xIronCrossx‌
taken from assist: “Biology 1A (lecture only) is required for the Chemical Engineering B.S. degree,
except for students who declare the Biotechnology concentration.”

Basically do you plan on getting a BA or BS? Can you get in as a BA 1st then take the classes required for BS?

Unless I read something wrong, there isn’t a BA in Chemical Engineering, so definitely a BS. I’m not exactly sure if that would be allowed since I would have to declare a completely different major. I will have completed one of the Engineering classes instead (Engr 4). The problem is I really have no idea how I would fit Biology in my schedule. I am already stuck taking courses at 2 different colleges now because of schedule conflicts.

That’s another question, will it look bad if I “only” take 12 credits this Fall? I am taking 7 during the summer so I don’t have any schedule conflicts in the Fall.
