Questions about Trinity College(CT)....

(I posted this on the Trinity forum, but it seems like no one checks that, so sorry it is double posted)
So I am intersested in Trinity college(CT), but have a few questions...
1) How Ghetto is Trinity (I have heard both that is is safe, and that you can't even leave campus without being beaten and mugged, which is more true)?

2) How bad is the drinking at Trinity? I would like to go to a school that has social avenues other than just drinking on the weekends as I am not a drinker. I PR correct when they put it on the list of schools with lots of hard liquor?

3) How does Trinity do in grad school placement?

4) Is double majoring doable?

5) Is it similar to Tufts(academically, socially, etc)? I have seen it compared in college guides as being similar, and as Tuft is my current #1 choice, I am seeking other similar schools

The campus itself is very safe- i've never heard otherwise, and i grew up in the next town over. while its true that the area around trinity isnt the best, it also isnt nearly as bad as its rep.
double majors at most schools are no big deal- you just pick your classes from the appropriate departments.
if you like trinity, you should look at conn college- basically the same exact school as trinity but 5 minutes from the beach.
tufts is overall harder to get into than these two schools, but thats basically because of its name recognition- there are TONS of overlap between applications at tufts and conn/trinity. same types of students.

I can put you in touch with a current Trinity sophomore who'd be happy to answer your questions in detail (she just wrote a review for my blog - you can see it by clicking on my name, then see Carolyn's website, then look under Best of for Trinity). PM me if you'd like her contact information.

How is their Economics program?

We live in Ct. and our D. was looking for match schools with a good academic rep and we put Trinity on our list. We hired an independent guidance counselor last year who at first included it on the list and promptly removed it shortly thereafter as too sketchy an environment (safety wise) due to insider info. She actually did two overnights and found it to be a very heavy frat and drinking environment. Although the school tries to have an active campus, it seemed alot of socialization is drinking in rooms, unless you have a fake id to go to bars in Hftd.
Many freshman seemed apathetic as far as school spirit and Spring weekend seemed to foster a short term fix. Alot of kids used T. as an option for schools they didn't get into.
