Questions about UCB transfer for CS L&S

<p>My dream school to apply for in CS is Berkeley because its considered the best public school like...ever for that major but on assist.org the 61A, 61B, and 61C classes don't have equivalents for most community colleges (aside from a few that I don't attend). If I do get accepted into Cal for this major, could I take those classes in the summer prior or would I have to take them all my first semester because if so it would be an extremely stressful semester for me and I handle stress like the Wicked Witch of the West handles water.</p>

<p>My second question is more personal, I figured out recently that I have ongoing issues with low self-esteem and that may be the reason why I want to go to a school like Cal in the first place, so what are legitimate/good reasons for wanting to attend UCB since my priorities are likely screwed up.</p>

<p>If you live near Laney and/or Diablo Valley college, you can find some of the equivalents there (Laney for 61A and 61B; Diablo Valley for 61B and 61C).</p>

<p>Students with none of 61A, 61B, 61C may start them in the summer, or (with careful scheduling) start in the fall and finish in 4-5 semesters. Some take 61A and 61B or 61C together in the first semester, if they have previously taken courses covering part or all of 61B.</p>
