questions about volunteering on the college app

so I volunteered at a hospital over the summer and I was hoping I could put my experience and hours there on the college app. I was wondering if they require your supervisor's signature, telephone number, or anything.
My reason for asking is because one day me and my friends shot a bunch of rubberbands up into the lights of the volunteer office and my supervisor fired me because I was working for her and I was supposed to keep the office orderly and what not. I did 100+ hours there and was wondering if that all went to waste since if the colleges call my supervisor, shes going to say "oh that idiot, I fired her b/c she shot a bunch of rubberbands up into the lights. and it was beyond immature..." and then that would kind of ruin my chances of getting into good colleges. So just asking if I should include that hospital experience on college apps? Thanks!!

Well, you did the hours, and you are entitled to claim them. It is unlikely that they will contact the volunteer supervisor, but you'd be rolling the dice to some extent.

That's a tough call, but i'd say put the hours on. 100 hours is a big deal, and even if they DO call i don't think that the college would ask for a personality reference, they would only want to verify that you did those hours. but as Hunt said, there's always that chance...

I'm going to be volunteering at this other hospital which is much more well known. So is it safe to say that it's more probable the colleges would call the other hospital or is it just a random choice?

It's highly unlikely that they will call either hospital, unless there is something else in your application to make them suspicious. Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there is very little spot-checking of this kind of information. (They are more likely to verify if you really won a prize you claim.)

ok good =)
thanks a lot guys!! I really needed all your input. Now I can relax a bit knowing that my hours won't go to waste.

It is very unlikely they will call your supervisor to check on your EC. As someone has mentioned before, they would do verification if something looks suspicious. Some colleges will discuss applicants with GC, especially if it's a prep school, at that time they'll try to verify your application. Some adcom will also google you. As an example, if you are a ranked athelete or accomplished musician/dancer, it would be very likely your name would appear in newspapers.
