questions about walkon/ standby testing

hi i did bad on the Oct.9 SAT don't have time to register so i wanna take it again on nov.6 how do you do a standby or walk on or whatever...
on the website it says bring money and a completed registration form... where can I get a registration form????
and also can i pay in CASH or does it have be check?

I called CB on Monday when the site was still down. You can get the registration form from one of the paper SAT booklets at your high school; the ones that have the testing information in them. The cost is $35.00 (late fee) + $29.50 (test fee). I do not know about cash, but I do know that you can use a credit card. You can also pay for sending scores to any schools over the 4 free ones at the same time.

I dont think you need a form at all. I called collegeboard and they said to just show up and that you would be billed later.

My 2 cents!

can you do this at all testing centers, or only specific one's? Please answer!

All test centers, but you should try to pick a big one where it is more likely that they have extra materials or proctors and more people that don't show up. Try to have the form completed before hand, and timeliness is important. You can standby for all SAT or SATIIs except for November SAT II listening tests.

so how does it work? You just show up? What time?

The college board website says to be there before 7:45. It's first come, first serve. There are no guarantees. Bring the completed registration form in its envelope with a check, money order, or credit card payment to "The College Board". You will be charged 35 bucks more than normal.

hmm, thanks. I've already registered for Math IIC for that date. If I dont get to take the SAT, would is still be possible for me to take the IIC?

I'm no expert, but I can't think of any reason why not. However, they could potentially keep you waiting until the last minute to tell you that they can't fit you in as a standby for the SAT I (although I think that standby SAT I takers usually get in easily), in which case you might be late getting to your SAT II. I wouldn't worry about this too much, I think that if you arrive early and prepared, they should be able to fit you in.

Where is this registration form? ANd it says bring payment by check cash or money order....but how much cause it says u will be billed 35 later!

registration forms are at school counselor's offices. they should tell you how much to pay.
