Questions about weirdness of submitting transcript/grades for grad school

OK. On the online application of a grad school I am considering applying for in Engineering, they say scan your transcript in and if accepted they will ask for a hard copy.

Here's the thing about that. It's December. I'm still finishing up Fall senior semester of my engineering bachelors. They also say that they are really only interested in your GPA AFTER the first two years.

So, that means they are only judging you on one academic year, junior year???

Beyond that, I am a non-traditional student so I don't really 'have' a first two years. I mean, I do, but it was a while ago.

Can someone key me into the weirdness of this process?

Grad schools will look at the information they care about. If they care about the GPA from your most recent 60 credits (“last two years”), they’ll look at that. If they care about the grades in your upper-level engineering coursework, they’ll look at that.

They know how to read transcripts, don’t worry about that.
