questions about WORD COUNT

let's say that the page limit for an essay (about your major/interest) was one page. if i wrote about half a page (270 words) but still expressed mynterests well, do you think it would be a big problem?

i know it's not a common question ... asking if too few words is bad...
my essay was very concise and "cut to the chase"

thanks

yeh if its concise, elaborate it more so to make it bigger. While not necessarily true, the more you write the better, because colleges want to get to know you through your writing, the more you write, the more you explain yourself to them.

make sure that in it's short length the essay isn't abrupt. it's definately a plus to be concise, because adcoms have soo much written work to get through, but also make sure it reflects you without becomming lengthy or going off the point. if everything flows well and answers the prompt with a little bit of color, then don't worry about stretching it. essays tend to become tedious and wordy when forced.
