Don’t know alll the info. here but just went on tour with my son and I attended there 25 years ago. Told yesterday that WVU is now about 50/50 out of state and in state. Scholarship $ is on the website, depends on GPA and test scores. You might check but based on your info. it would be around $7K maybe? Students are super friendly. Everyone is down to earth! Helpful. Honor requires 3.7 GPA by end of senior year OR 1250 SAT. Hope this helps!
What major are you applying for? Right now, WVU is a high match and honors a big reach.
If you want scholarships and honors, check out Marshall and Shepherd. UMW in Virginia has automatic scholarships for stats, too.
@Drewbiemom @MYOS1634 Thank you for your responses. I have been informed after my junior year that my gpa is a 3.4 UW/4.0 scale and 3.8 W/5.0 scale so would that mean I would be placed in the honors program even though I do not meet the 1250 SAT?
Your GPA is 3.4 UW (the GPA requirement is UW).
Our son says he is absolutely happy with his decision to go to WVU (freshman International Studies major with law school plans).
He was accepted to 7 state universities (all over the U.S.) and my hubs is a WVU alumni. His final choices were Penn State, Kent State and WVU.
Our son says he is studying a good bit actually and with his annual scholarship he has to keep his gpa up.
He has made friends from all over and he lives in Seneca Hall dorm downtown.
The students that make it at WVU have to find balance between the epic parties and social scene and academics.
@WVUMountaineer my current stats for all the 3 years are 3.8 W and 1210 SAT
@Kingly71 a quick google search will provide honors requirements. Need a 3.7 GPA; weighted or unweighted. Plus either a 26 ACT or 1250 SAT; Superscored.
I do t recall the deadlines for the scores; may be able to take again to try and bump it up.
