Hey so I know Haley already made a thread, but I only see questions about CoMaD. There has to be others out there about the other schools/university as a whole, right? Ask, and I'll try to answer. ...Since I know the huge thread that used to be here unfortunately got deleted.

Here’s a mom question: How safe do you feel in Philadelphia, and does the college give new students information about how to stay safe, and about areas of town where it is not safe to venture?

I’m not from Philadelphia (or a urban area) so coming to a city was somewhat of a shock to me. That being said, I feel pretty safe walking around campus, even at night. I remember the first weekend there, my friends and I took the subway/walked around center city to grab some cheesesteaks. We were a little freaked, but none of us knew the city that well anyway. Once you get to know the city, I have to real problem walking around, day or night, by myself or with a group.
The first week that we’re there (Freshmen Week) there’s a safety orientation that students are highly encouraged to go to. They just tell you the basics of city life: crossing streets, locking your bikes, traveling in groups, being aware of your surroundings, etc. It’s pretty thorough and gives some tips on street-smarts. They discuss the public safety and police force that both Drexel and Penn has so we’re well covered.

Hi AtlanticJumper, do you know anything about changing majors? I am going to start fall as an architecture major and I really wanted to switch to a biomedical engineering major, but I am afraid my grades aren’t good enough to make the switch now. I am also on a 4 year no co-op and if changing majors is possible I would also like to switch to a 5 year 3 co-op. Should I wait to change after my first semester when my grades are hopefully higher in college? If so, do they consider my SATs? Because I hope they don’t…
