so if someone is admitted and enrolls, when do you meet with an advisor and see what classes you can transfer credit for? and how does the whole schedule-making process go?

Hello! It’s break and I’m back! Sorry!
Yes, UNC requires the wonderful LFIT! Physical education! There is intro to walking, and yoga so no worries if you’re not into that type of thing. They also have really awesome (and expensive) ones, such as skiing, horse back riding and scuba.

In my case, financial aid wasn’t submitted until the day before I was suppose to enroll, so in that sense I waited a while to pick my classes. My selection was limited, but it wasn’t awful. As the spring semester goes, the more credits you have, the sooner you get to enroll and I have no trouble. Plus if the class is full and you really want to get in, you can beg the teacher to enroll you.

If you live within the triangle, then its likely you will physically go to Carolina and talk to an adviser and they will help you. For me, I had a phone appointment and he went over my sheet and told me what I needed to graduate. A little confusing, but I was on my own to pick my classes and I scheduled another appointment to make sure I was on the right track!

Also UNC requires three semesters (4 credits each) of a foreign language. If you place out of it, you’re golden. If not, you’re in the same boat as many of us! Also if you took a foreign language in high school put placed in 101 that will NOT count towards any credit.

Anyone else?!!!

Hey snogintheloo,

I’m also a transfer student from IL. Which community college in IL did you go to? But my main question is on the honor statement on the myuncportal page. Do you have to print it out and get it to UNC before the march 1st deadline? Or is there a way to email it to them? I thought there was something like this on the common app but I just want to be sure I have everything done by the time march 1st comes around.
