Questions for a UW student pt. 2

BigWords.com is a fantastic site for used books. It searches Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and a bunch of other online stores/vendors to track down the cheapest price for you. Also tracks sites that offer book rentals. I saved hundreds of dollars in community college using it.

would math 124 and chem 142 be too much? i signed up for both, but now i’m afraid that i’ll end up failing lol

lovetory, I signed up for those exact same classes plus pysch 101. with enough studying and tutoring help i don’t think you should be too worried. but prepare in advance just to be sure

Is there anything I should know about the A&O session? Mine is tomorrow, and my friends who have already gone told me that they didn’t get very much help when they registered for their classes.

You get help if you ask for help. There are like five people available walking around the lab to assist the 40-50 students. You can’t just expect to recieve help-it’s UW. But an advice in advance is to look up the time schedule and try to create a schedule yourself with classes your interested in, so you won’t have to spend so much time and you’ll get your picks first. I did that and I finished in less than ten minutes, others weren’t even able to finish and had to come back or finish at home. As a matter of fact you can register for classes right now, I believe, and still be able to switch it around tmrw. Have fun meeting new people!

For those who have not been to their summer orientation, the registration option is blocked.

You can start registering at 5am on day 2 of your orientation, I believe.

Thanks, that was helpful advice. I couldn’t register for classes before my A&O session, but I looked at the time schedule and just walked into reg with all the SLNs of classes I wanted. I was done like that.

I would be sleeping at 5am on day 2 of my orientation, not looking at classes… Those sessions are long!

“In fact, if you’d like me to send you a DARS form that has all of the class and credit requirements/ pre-reqs to get into and graduate from a major you’re interested, let me know.” -

are some of these classes apply for freshman too? if yes, I would like to see the form if you don’t mind sending it to me? I’m thinking of doing a double major in the future when i get a chance to declare my major. mostly in the business field and economics.
thanks, mahaffie… :)
