I narrowed down my choices between Brown and Columbia, but now I am stuck so I have a ton of questions.

What’s the workload like? What about social life and the general atmosphere? How easy is it for international students to get internships? Do you ever have time to breathe? Do people like to go to clubs in different parts of Providence or do they prefer campus parties? Are student publications taken seriously? How much opportunity would a student have to do research/study abroad/etc.?

If you could answer one or more of these questions it would be extremely helpful.

Workload: entirely depends on the classes you take, especially with the open curriculum.

Social life: again, it really varies. Social life takes place mostly on campus, though people do sometimes go to bars/clubs downtown. Greek life isn’t too big.

Internships: I think it’s as easy for int’l students as for anyone, though you just need to make sure you can legally work in the US. Internships during the year aren’t too common, but a lot of people do them during the summer.

Student publications: what type? We have millions.

Research/abroad: research is really easy to find and get involved in. Study abroad just requires you to plan your courses around it and make sure you have the language requirements (for most programs).
