Questions for Parent2Noles and other FSU experts

Regarding the summer sessions, most of the kids who apply for summer admission (as opposed to Fall), are applying for the summer C session which is 6 weeks long. For this summer 2007 it runs from June 25th-August 3rd. During this time the students usually take two classes (6 credits total). My DD will be applying this summer for summer 2008 admission. Many instate kids do this because A)they are required to do at least 9 credits during the summer if they enter a public Florida college with less than 9 credits (AP, dual enroll. etc). and B)the whole freshman experience is a bit less overwelming in the summer when the school's total population is smaller. I was told that it does not give you an advantage toward admission however I do know of some kids who had applied for Fall admission but were admitted for summer instead so...

On dorms: in addition to the dorms that Parent2noles mentioned, there are two brand new dorms, Wildwood and Degraff, that are opening in Fall 2007 for primarily Freshman. They are suite style (two doubles share a bathroom) and will house about 700 kids each.

Greek Life: about 15-20% of the kids join the frats and sororities. The three kids that I know that are at FSU are all into the greek life and love it.
