Hi everyone! I’m currently a sophomore studying at the University of Houston(in Texas), and I’m going to be a junior next fall. I was admitted to the Carlson School of Management for Fall 2017 at the end of March. I have 57 credits total at UH and 12 credits at Lone star(a community college where I took classes last summer). I received my transfer credit report today, however, only 33 credits transferred. More than half of my classes aren’t on the report, so I guess it means that they won’t be transferred. So I want to ask the students who also transferred from other schools to UMN. Did you guys also face the same problem? Did you ask for petitions? How many classes got transferred after the petitions?
I noticed that you posted this in the U MN forum as well which is good.
Have you analyzed which classes did not get accepted? Was it the community college credits that did not transfer? Did you take any of those non transferred classes while in high school? Were either of those institutions on the quarter system, not semester?
Find the syllabus for the classes. Go through the UMN catalog and see if it matches to any specific courses and base any appeal on that.
