Questions from a junior

Hello. As the title suggests, I am a junior in high school. I plan on applying to UMich in the fall. I'm really bent on getting my application through by Oct 31st i.e. the early deadline because I've talked to quite a few people who tell me to send the app as quickly as possible since its rolling. Having said that, I am deliberating between giving my SAT in May or in October.

I've registered for May but I feel like I need to focus on my final exams (Cambridge As level). I'm just wondering if I give it in October, will I be able to get my score and send the application in time to meet the deadline OR if not, will I be able to send the score later.

Also I plan to give my SAT IIs in November. Are these required for admission and if so, will I able to send these scores as well before any decision is made.

Thanks for listening. I appreciate anyone who is willing to help!

Any SATs or ACTs (I reccomend taking the ACT if possible), usaually take about 4 to 6 weeks to grade, so after that scores should be sent there.

As for SAT IIs, they are not required. I didn’t take any. They may help, but I don’t know how much (and I don’t think very much at all). If you applied in October you’d hear back before the end of December, and likely your SAT IIs wouldn’t be there. If you were deffered, I don’t know.

I would reccomend taking it in May if possible. Maybe with September or October (if possible) as back up plans in case you do poorly in May.

Next ACT testing date is June 13, after that you may have to wait until October.

Ok they don’t offer the ACT is my region so I’m stuck with the SAT and that usually takes three weeks to get back so if I give it in early october, I should get in back in time for the deadline. I’ve already given it once so hopefully I wont do poorly this time.

As for SAT IIs, I’ll give them in Nov and see if I need to send them but its good to know, its not a requirement.

Thanks for the help guys!
