I'm a US citizen but I've lived in Israel since infancy. a few questions:
in the applications, it says to list all AP's or honors on a certain list but the Israeli school system doesn't have those kind of things..instead we have "units", the more units you have at a certain subject the more difficult it is (5 is the highest amount of units usually offered in most subjects- and if you do 5 units at a certain subject it is called accelerated) . so how would I fill the list?
Also, how do I convert percentiles to GPA?

You need to pay a visit to the EducationUSA office in Israel. This office is supported by the US government, and its job is to help international students find the right college or university in the US. They deal with students just like you (citizens who were educated abroad) all the time, and they will be able to answer all of your questions. I used to work with this organization when I lived in South America. They really, truly, are the experts. You do not have to figure this stuff out on your own.

duplicate post - sorry!

thank you soo much!

happymomof1-
do you think the Fulbright commission will be willing to assist me even though I want to go through the unconventional route (for Israelis) and apply to college as a senior (without a bagrut certificate yet, obviously) and request a deferal for my two year military service? again, this is very unusual for israelis I just want to do it because I think I’d rather finish with everything before I go to the army.

Believe me, the counselors at the EducationUSA office have heard it all before. That’s what they do. They should be able to tell you how to handle each step of the process.

Good luck!
