How much better of an explanation do you need? It is pretty straight forward.
If a function is symmetric about the y-axis then it is even, if a function is symmetric
about the line y = x then its odd. If f(x) = f(-x) then its even. If f(x) = -f(-x) it is odd.

And inverse functions are like this. If g(x) is the inverse of f(x) then
g(f(x)) = x and f(g(x)) = x. And functions only have an inverse if they are
monotonically decreasing or increasing. That means they increase all of the time or
decrease all of the time.Thats all you need to know.

If you really can’t understand it from that or just by reading some of the sites that
came up on google then you probably won’t do very well on SAT Math Level 2.

Then do some practice problems. Inst that why you got the prep book?
I don’t see how you can go deeper than what I just explained, I mean it isnt
a very vast subject. The only way I see of someone understanding it better is
if they did some practice problems and looked at graphs of function and try to figure
it out if they are even or odd and have an inverse. Someone can’t really tell you that
you gotta do that by yourself.

^You just look up “let me google that for you”, the site is probably lmgtfy or something, and then it’ll take you to a site where you type in what to look for. It will then give you a URL that google’s the info.

Math 2 is not a breeze. In fact it is so hard. man GreedISGood not everyone
can be as good at math as you. Claiming to have taken Ap calc ab as a sophmore
in one thread and then saying that they will take ap calc ab as a senior in a chance
thread.

Just look at how good he is in that thread. Ap calc as a sophomore. And take a look at
this quote from that thread GreedisGood.
"I’m taking BC Calc exam next year (will get a 5 on AB sub score and 5 on BC most likely) and i’ll take LA and/or MVC at Brown.

Senior year: Fourier analysis and Differential equations"

wow see just look at how good at math he is. taking all that math while in high school.

Math is actually one of my finer points in the sense that I am more oriented towards calculus and algebra topics. Trig and the stuff in pre-calc, I find challenging. Even so, I have not taken Pre-calc (in school) yet, so after I do, I’m expecting an 800 on the math 2 test after a review and refresher of what i had studied this summer. Thanks everyone for their comments and opinions and thanks especially to copyxmkii, because of whom, I put in a little more effort and instead of being lazy, I actually understood odd/even functions and inverse functions.

^b/c that person was over at my house one day and asked me if he had a shot a princeton. i told him i could make a forum thread online and he said ok.
