Questions on 1 Year UC-UC transfer

Hello! I'm going to attend UC Riverside starting this fall quarter after recently graduating high school this year. I really wish to transfer to UCLA or UC Berkeley and am currently in the "Pre-Business" Major at UC Riverside. I intend on continuing Business Administration as my primary major and some questions regarding the transfer. After looking at my records, I already have 44 Units due to the amount of AP classes I took. Now, to my understanding transfer students need 60 units of semester units or 90 units of quarter units to transfer. After calculating the number of classes I will be taking this year for the three quarters, I can accomplish such a task. My question: When do I apply? Do I apply like everyone else during November? Do I still follow the same procedure as stated in the UC transfer FAQ where I submit an application and then update the grades in January?

Another question is that due to the level of AP classes I've taken, I've already completed all of my Math requisites and after the fall quarter, will be finished with my English requisites. In addition, i've completed my History requisites as well as several others. All I really need to focus on is the necessary lower division classes such as Intro to Business and Principles of Econ in addition to more humanities classes.

My advisers at my school are currently out of the office and thus, cannot be contacted regarding this information, so I decided on posting here to hear other people's thoughts.

Overall, my confusion lies in the process of application and the steps that need to be taken for a 1 year transfer to UCLA or UC berkeley to be successful.

Oh and thank you for your time if you respond to my questions. Thank you very very much :)

I'm assuming that you would have to apply this coming Fall to possibly attend UCB/UCLA next year. I think the only problem might be that the pre-req classes might fill up and you won't be able to take them or transfer. As long as you are able to finish your pre-reqs and lower division GEs by the end of the Spring Quarter, go ahead and apply.

You have a good shot as long as you keep your GPA up and have some decent extra curricular activities and a good essay.

Yes, you apply along with every othr transfer applicant in November, and are subject to the same winter quarter update.

My advice is to get UC Reciprocity, where you finish your GE's at Riverside. b/c of the Reciprocity, all other UC's acknowledge that you finished their GE's, regardless of where you came from.

Applying as a transfer is like applying during your senior year as a freshman. Same app, just slightly different essay questions. They don't even ask your SAT/ACT scores.

To make the application process go faster, you should keep your app from senior year. I copied everything from there and added/changed EC's accordingly.
