<p>So the two colleges that I applied to(Smith and Bryn Mawr</p>
<p>Sorry for some reason I could not post.</p>
<p>So the two colleges that I applied to(Smith and Bryn Mawr) require me to submit tax statements through the IDOC. However, my parents have been unemployed since 2005. They have not filed since then. Reasons being, they moved abroad and are not required to file taxes. But keep in mind, they are still unemployed. I want to know where this leaves me when applying for financial aid and submitting the documents to IDOC. </p>
<p>Secondly, the non filer forms become available in January. The deadline to submit the application, for Smith and Bryn Mawr at least is February 1st. Since I live international, does this mean I will have to mail it a month before? </p>
<p>Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it. </p>
<p>For IDOC schools you need to submit FAFSA and CSS Profile (and any proprietary aid applications) by the deadline. In a few weeks CSS will send you email with instructions what additional documents they want you to submit to each college through IDOC. You do not send anything to IDOC until you are prompted to do so.</p>
<p>@CCDD14 Ohhhhhhhh okay! Thank you so much.</p>
@CCDD14 I am wondering if I can submit my financial statements directly to the school? A few of them have indicated that I can. I am just worried that my documents will not get to IDOC by the deadline(In FEB)
@rose43 You will have to discuss this with every school individually. You are causing more work for them (and for yourself) so some may say no. Different schools may want different set of paperwork depending on your CSS Profile. I believe IDOC will ask you for the most complete set of DOCs and will make available to each school what they need.
Are you sure that the deadline for financial statements is in February? Or it is the deadline for just CSS Profile?
@CCDD14 Yes, the deadline for Smith is Feb. 17th. I contacted them and they only want a non-filer form and a financial statement from my parents.
