Does anyone use UCF Meal Plans? If so, which type?
How is the food?
Do you feel like you are getting decent savings?

Most people recommend not getting one. With your D being in Towers and having a full kitchen, would she really need one? Would she go for breakfast? Are they going to even let kids eat in the dining hall? If she wanted to eat a meal at the dining hall she could just pay for it.
The food is not that great.
Having a girl, I doubt you would have any savings. Most dining plans are not worth the money they charge. Let’s put it this way, we gave our D the cost of the lowest plan divided monthly. She was able to buy her groceries, go out to restaurants, pay for gas, buy things at Disney and fund a trip to Europe for the cost of the cheapest meal plan. She is not a big eater, more of a grazer, so eating a big meal at once was never going to happen. She knew 1 person who bought the meal plan, they ate by themselves a lot.
What are her roommates doing?
Thanks. That was kind of my thought process as well.
She only cooks a little at home, but she’s going to be working on it. And I’m confident she won’t go hungry!
Unless your kid is a huge eater and has zero idea how to cook anything, everyone recommends skipping the meal plan. I looked at the price of the lowest plan, 10 meals a week and it worked out to about $8.90/meal. You can pay as you go at the dining hall and it will cost $9.50/meal for lunch or dinner. So that meager of a difference didn’t outweigh my kid having a choice of where/what to eat. Also, everyone says the food isn’t great and gets really boring because it is the same day after day.
