Next year i will be entering my sophomore year and I had some questions about possibly self studying for AP tests and taking courses on Florida Virtual School.

For AP tests

Next Year i will be taking US History Honors. Its the course above regular but below our AP. I was wondering if I should should do the self study for the ap test.

How would I register for the AP test without taking the course? would i have to talk to my teacher or administration?

Florida Virtual School

I’m possibly intrested in taking courses on it and was wondering how do i go about getting consent from the school. Do i need consent? Who do I approach? My teacher in that department or administration?

Just as a note I go to a private School

at my school, it's public, you just got some form, filled out what class you wanted to take online, and turned it in to your guidance councler. the school has to give you concent, they had some standards about having a "good" gpa(it was something low like a 3.0) and not having any conduct problems...

^ well its different from mine and i live close to u (ft. lauderdale) we turn in a course planner around midway of the year. I can search the office for a form like that but i'm not sure i'll find anything.

we got the same things about half way through the year to select classes(the long sheet of paper), but if you want to take something online you needed to get one of the form filled out and signed

I actually made a thread on FLVS a while ago. You should check it out, very informative.

Anyways, something really weird happened to me today. I had requested Algebra II through FLVS about 2 weeks ago. Then you have your parents create a "guardian" account, and they approve the courses. Then you're supposed to print out this form, which lists the courses you want to take, and you go get it approved by your counselor.

Well, I hadn't completed the last step, and somehow today I look on my FLVS account and the courses have been completely approved.

^ yes i've looked at the thread on flvs. You say bring it to my counseler. My guidance counceler? I dont even know who she is. I thought i had to bring it to my teacher or the Upper School Office. Also if i want to take the course next year not this summer should i ask for consent now?

If you want to take it online next year, yes you should probably get it sorted sometime before the school year starts.

And yes your guidance counselor. It's pretty important that you know your counselor ;)

^ yes i know but its only my counseler for this year + she's not very nice she lied to my face and to someone who is going to be my teacher next year's face and suggesting i not take honors and then lying claiming she didnt. And its writen in an email so it was preety bad. Do i also have to talk to the guidance counseler about self studying
