Student had D in precalc 1st semester 11th gr. and A second semester. Re-took 1st semester precalc the summer after 11th through an online HS. He is reporting that as a summer course under its correct name Precalc Part 1 (one session equal to a semester grade) and reporting both of the precalc semester 1 grades as required since he did not re-take the same class at his HS. But on the A -G subject totals, it’s now showing 5.5 years of Math instead of 5 (HS classes:Alg, Geo, Alg 2, Precalc and stats this year).SO it appears the Cal State is giving him credit twice for 1st semester of precalc…I assume it’s because the A in precalc second semester validates the D he received 1st semester ? but still this doesn’t seem correct. Any ideas how to fix this ?
That is correct. The A from the summer Pre-Calc class does not replace the D from the original class since they are different courses but he has validated the year long Pre-calc course with the repeat grade in the summer.
