Questions regarding AEM transferring

I was wondering:

1) What exactly you have to take at AEM. I would be going there for business. Not biology or farming, but, as the major is titled, economics and management. I know that 1/3 of my classes will be fulfilling CALS requirements, but what are they and are they difficult for those not really interested in like chem and bio and stuff?

2) I know I can double major in the CALS school and that I can minor outside of the school, but could I possibly major in a school outside of CALS? I am very interested in computer science.

3) Is it hard socially to transfer? Will I be just as able to join clubs like student council and other things?

4) Are the classes difficult and is it really hard to get a good gap? I have been doing really well at the University of Virginia and do you think the level of difficulty would be similar at Cornell or harder?

I know this is a heck of a lot to answer at once, so if you think you can really help me out on just one question, that would be very helpful as well. Thanks guys!

bump!! 469 views and no responses??

1) [College Distribution Requirements | College of Agriculture and Life Sciences](http://cals.cornell.edu/academics/registrar/degree-requirements/distribution/) read through that. It will depend on which of your courses from UVA transfer over. But you can easily find less rigorous science classes in places like Developmental Sociology, Natural Resources, Plant/Food Science, etc.

2) You won’t be able to major in CS though you can certainly take classes in CS. Though note that CS classes are rather difficult unless you have already been taking them at your previous school.

3) Cornell takes a lot of transfers, most of which are in CALS and ILR so a bunch of your classmates will be transfers. If you are mildly social you’ll be fine meeting people. Helps to join greek life or other organizations too.

4) If you are doing well at UVA you should be fine at Cornell. Cornell arguably has a stronger student body but the classes should be of similar difficulty.

thank you nd09! I will be taking a computer science course next semester! Could I minor in it?
