Are most CC - UC transfers pretty much guaranteed provided that the student has the appropriate GPAs? Also, after being accepted, is it difficult to make the transition from CC to UCs? Are they looked down upon by the other students or the faculty?

There are programs in which you can be “guaranteed” into a UC. For instance, UCSB, UCSD, UCR, UCD and others go by the TAG (transfer admission guarantee). You have to have igetc done and maintain a 3.0. For UCLA they use TAP (transfer alliance program). And i dont think any of the transfers are looked down upon at all. I figure we made the smart move and saved a bunch of cash going to a CC.

just maintain a decent GPA and you’ll get into most UC’s

No guarantee for Cal and UCLA.

“is it difficult to make the transition from CC to UCs?”

It will be at first, but after the first quarter or two you’re definitely used to it. The biggest transitioning difficulty is the quarter system. Quarter system is a *****. Getting used to the curve and level of competition also takes some time (Cal and UCLA mainly). It definitely is manageable though, you just need to up your academic game when you transfer.

“Are they looked down upon by the other students or the faculty?”

Hell no haha. What you need to remember is that THERE IS A HUGE TRANSFER POPULATION AT THE UCs. I think it’s something like 30% at the popular transfer UCs. I’m a 3rd year transfer dorming and there are many other transfers dorming on my floor. The 1st years and 3rd years hang out together all the same. A lot of my 3rd year friends joined frats/sororities no problem. There’s just so many transfers dispersed around here that it’s honestly not possible to segregate anyone.
