questions regarding computer engineering, financial engineering...

i'm a high school senior who is going to enroll at the umich next fall as an engineering student. i have never felt truly pulled to just one field of engineering, many are really interesting and appealing to me. i don't know all that much about certain disciplines in engineering, and have some questions...

what does a computer engineer do in industry? what kind of companies hire many computer engineers (other than computer companies)? does a computer engineering degree allow you to work in many different fields, or is it not as broad as some other majors? (i don't know if that made sense)

also, if i were to want to go into financial engineering, what would be a good undergraduate major? the field of financial engineering seems really interesting to me... any financial engineers out there? i guess any information about it would be great to know.

thanks in advance!

Google might be the best way to go on this one.

yeah, i found some information through google, but i found it rather vague, basically saying computer engineers are found wherever computers and microprocessors are. but, other than obvious comptuer companies, what companies heavily recruit computer engineers?

Software engineering companies will look at computer engineering majors though CS is preferred.
