Questions regarding housing and orientation?

My questions are 1) When do freshmen get their housing offers? I found somewhere on their site that said April 7th but clearly that wasn't for freshmen. And 2) Does it matter which orientation I attend, like will I get to register for classes first if I choose an earlier one? Thanks for any input!

IIRC april 7th was the deadline to submit housing materials and the offers came sometime mid-summer. Also, as of 2008, attending the earlier orientation sessions DID in fact allow you to register for classes before the students attending the later sessions.

@dontcha I don’t think April 7th was the deadline, I submitted mine after and most freshman haven’t even committed yet by then. Also is it a big deal to register earlier, should I do my best to get an early orientation?

… sorry I was going off of 6 year old memories =D. And yes, I would register for orientation as soon as you are able to sign up. Although most classes will be filled up with returning students regardless, so it’s not a huge, huge deal

All info about orientation, including dates, is here:

Housing deadline is 4pm this Thursday, and getting your application in early gives you no priority.
