Questions Regarding "Sophomore" Status and SATS/Highschool Transcript

I know that when transferring colleges will place less emphasis on your SATS and high school transcript if you are two years out of high school opposed to one.

The thing is, does this rule apply for students who took a gap year and then have 1 year of freshmen grades? Thus, they would be out of high school for 2 years as well. I am wondering this because I took a year of studying at an international university before beginning in America, but my credits didn't transfer. Thus, I have already done 2 years of work, but am applying for sophomore status.

Will they still hold my high school transcript and sats with as much importance as a regular freshmen applicant even though I have 2 years experience under my belt?

Thanks so much for your answers.

You just need to explain your situation as to why you took off for a year. You will most likely have to submit your high school transcript since you do not have any proof of records of your international university work.

How much importance the test scores and high school record will have is going to vary by school.

I am applying to Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Do you think studying one year in a university abroad will give weight to this reasoning?
