Questions regarding the application.

to get to u know better as a person with life.

To induce a nervous breakdown in obsessive applicants who frantically consider the implications of declaring Brahms Concerto for Violin (in A minor) as their favorite recording.

yea i bet its all a mental game they're playing with us....

"muahhahah, lets see which frail minded kiddies will crumble under the pressure this year"

o.o" i can just see their faces with the smug face, and hear the malicious chuckles... or mebbe its just me

Haha...okay, fine fine, I know it doesn't matter. I think it's nice that they want us to do it, though. Maybe THAT'S the point--to make us well-disposed towards them!

Mm, have any of you heard Sparklehorse? "Good Morning Spider" is my favorite CD (at the moment--OK Computer and everything Bob Dylan take over sporadically), but nobody I know has heard of it...so I was just curious to see if any of the CCers liked it. Or hated it. Or had an opinion either way : )

Why does everyone seem to put serious songs/albums as their favorites? I was thinkin more of Linkin Park? Haha...
Btw, impt question to ask:
Will they send their admission decision thru e-mail? And for early decision, will they send the decision ON 15 Dec, BY 15 Dec, or AROUND 15 Dec? Thanks. I'll need the answer to plan my regular applications to other U also...

go to the old CC board and look at the posts around dec. 15-18 of last year. that'll give you an idea. I think they mail them on dec. 15th, so the time you get notified depends on how far you live from NJ.

they don't do email. I asked the admit officer and she clearly said they did it through paper ("it's nice to hold something in your hands" umm not so sure if i want to hold the reject letter though...) I really hope they send it before the 15th though. I'm in nyc, close to NJ but since winter vacation starts on the 17th, I need to know before then so I can tell my school to send other school reports if necessary.

nevermind...a couple of kids from NJ got notified on the 13th, so they must mail them around the 15th

I was reading the Daily Princetonian, they chronicled a couple of EDers in 2000 and they said that letters were mailed the 12th, so I guess they want you to find out on the 15th?

yeah, must be.

what? they don't e-mail? darn... i live in indonesia n i'm very sure that the letter won't reach me until January... maybe the post office will even lose it... that means i have to apply for regular decision before i even know my early result... sigh...

Perhaps you can call them. I'm sure they hate getting calls if it's just impatient people bugging them, but since you are so far away and other apps depend on this I'm sure they'll understand the circumstances.

I guess this is more of a technical question than an app question, but does anyone know how to make it so that you can save your work on the pdf file. And yeah, I have similar sentiment to that kid who said he was putting Linkin Park, I dont even like classical music and stuff, and I'm pretty sure Pton wants to hear that its students like other types of music. Oh yeah, I do have an app question. Teacher recs and the guidance counselor's report and stuff, is that sent with the 8 pages that I fill out, does it even have to be sent by the same deadline? Thanks.

Teacher recs and school reports have to be sent by the same deadline, but they should be sent by the school, not you. You shouldn't even see them (sign the waiver, it helps you).

Can't you just save the .pdf file locally onto your computer?

Oh, and what's wrong with putting contemporary music? Go ahead.

yeah, i saved the pdf, but like i cant save the info i fill out on it, when i reopen the pdf, its blank.

that's really weird, did you Save As?

Tobsta, are you using Adobe Acrobat READER? Because if you are, you won't ever be able to save the things you type. The program won't let you.

My computer froze three times in a row when i tried opening the pdf with text fields, but it opened the one w/o text fields fine. So i gave up, and decided to write it out.

I cant make up my mind on the fave record thing... cant even decide on the fave genre, lol (rock, or jpop scratches head). Sorry, i'm carrying the music topic a bit too long.

takeheart, i think your right, where can i get the program that will allow me to save my changes?

I'm not sure where you can get the program you need. I think it's called Adobe Acrobat Professional, and you might be able to download it from www.adobe.com but if I recall, it has a pretty hefty price for a computer program. I would just print out the app as you do it and not save it. I don't think it's worth it to get a program just to save your info.
