Questions to ask a college admissions rep

So i am meeting with the college rep to my dream school, University of Washington. I was just wondering if anyone has some good insightful questions I could ask her that are not the lame ones they hear 24/7. I know pretty much everything about this school because I have researched so much about it so I don’t really know what to ask. Help!!!

Presumably you are a HS junior right now. Go to whatever calendar you use and make an entry for March 1, 2017 to read your quote again. I’m sure it will give you a good chuckle!

Well, the obvious thing to NOT do is ask very obvious questions that can be easily found online (ex. What is the average GPA of incoming Freshman? How big is the school? Where is your school located - I’m not joking, I heard people ask all of these questions to college reps) :stuck_out_tongue:

No one can tell you what to ask though, specifically. We have no idea what your major is, what your interests are, what you already know about the school, what’s important to you in a school… However, we can give you ideas, at least.

heh, I’m pretty sure you don’t know “everything” about this school - especially considering that you probably got all your info online. Are you honestly saying that the website had EVERY little detail about every single program/major/etc at the school?

Like do they mention some program that you’re interested (but they don’t go into much detail about it on their website)? Do you have questions specific to your major?

Some topics you could bring up are student life, clubs, what makes X unique (like what makes your business school unique?)

Ask about the student life, clubs, specific programs (maybe even honors programs if they are available), dorms, or career services/internship opportunities.

You say you know everything. Why don’t you go there and just listen? It’s not a time to jostle to the front to show how interested you are. They’re giving a presentation. Sit and take it in. If it leads you to a question, then ask it. If someone else asks a good question, listen for the answer. This is not a pageant. Sit and be quiet is a perfectly acceptable option, you know. Frankly, any question you seem to want to invent sounds like it’ll automatically be “lame”, in your words.

Tell me what the typical U Wash student is like.
