Are there any particular questions that I should be asking at college information sessions?
I want to leave a good impression on the school rep but I don't know what I'd like to know. I know that the education at the school is good but I don't know what other details that would affect college life there. What did you ask?

The reps see thousands of students, and aren’t likely to remember you unless you ask something that’s totally inappropriate such as whether the college’s students are good in bed.

Otherwise, just ask questions about things that interest you. You’ll take most advantage of the session if you’ve read the school’s website beforehand so as not to waste your time by asking questions that have easily available answers.

Agreed. The rep probably won’t remember you unless you make an utter fool out of yourself or wear really vulgar clothing or something. Just ask about things that interest you. Can they give you details about your intended major? What about clubs you’re interested in? Are these dominated by people that major in that are or do people from different areas participate? Where does most of the social life take place - on or off campus? Are you interested in study abroad? If so ask for details. What about research opportunities? If it is a school with graduates, ask whether there are many UNDERGRAD opportunities. Is there something you’re interested in that they don’t offer (majors, clubs, etc.)? Ask about the ease with which you can create a club or develop your own program of study.

Basically, pick the things you want most in a college, and then ask about them.

Just ask what you want to know. They’re not going to write down your name and use it against you in admissions, it’s really just for you to learn more about their school.

information session is actually such a waste of time. You won’t learn anything new if the school officials are hosting it.

This was posted on a HS website. Although intended for an actual visit to a college some can be adapted to your attending an info session:
