Questions to Frost students

I want to get into Frost for either classical or contemporary guitar, or composition.

What are the requirements for the auditions to each of these majors?

What kinds of questions do they ask you?

What would you recommend I have in my repertoire before applying for composition?

Any advice whatsoever is highly appreciated.

Jorge, your other posts range from physics to philosophy to AP classes. What is it that you want to do with all these majors? What is your background? The questions you ask about Frost are all available from the Frost School of Music website. Start there, and then ask us what you still need to understand.

Hahaha… I’m a high school student still figuring out what he wants to do in life.

Many of us that read these forums understand as there are so many things to study and pursue that are interesting, especially in high school. You can still pursue some of them in college, but to look at Frost specifically is why I was asking, as that is a very competitive admit and students study with advanced instructors for year to prepare themselves for those auditions. Since your range of interests is so broad, perhaps you need to explore one or more of these in a summer program before you go to college. While you may be capable of taking AP Physics or philosophy, it is a different focus and approach to being a contemporary or classical guitar player w/ a focus on composition. Talk to your school guidance counselor and see what they can share about summer opportunities that can help you explore your many interests and talents more deeply. Many programs have scholarship and financial aid available to help defray the costs of attending, if that is a concern. Good luck!
