Questions:USC GED????????

Hello friends,
I am applying for USC as a junior student at this moment.
However, I could not finish the scientific inquiry section and global traditions.
So far, I have 44 credits and 15 more credits or 12 credits will be taken in this semester.
If I don't finish GED when I transfer as a junior student, is there any disadvantage?

nah dont sweat it

i thought u have to finish GED or some high school certification to apply for USC >_>
well then again the word is - THOUGHT

Doryx> haha, thanks. :) it was a big problem but now I am ok.

Guardiangel> Do you mean if I don't finish GED, then the admission office sees my high school grade or they just need a graduation of high school certification? :) I am not sure, please tell me.

they won't look at ur grades as long as ur above 30 units...
well if ur close to 30 units they'll look at it nevertheless
but i always thought that a GED or high school equivalence was required. including a transcript with w/e classes u took at ur HS

When I transfered to USC from CCC...

a) I was missing 2 GEs.
B) I didn't have ANY of my major prereq completed. (Bio major... was hoping to get into my second major, poli sci)
C) My high school GPA was a 2.6 and I applied as a sophomore with 42 units. (Had 24 units when I submitted applications and sent in 18 more units when they sent me a spring grade request.)
D) No matter how many units you have, you HAVE to send in official HS transcripts and SAT/ACT scores.

So from my experience, it's not that important to finish ALL of them. However, the English and the math is required.

Guardiangel> I see what you tried to say. Thanks anyway. I hope your transfer process goes well.

Doryx> This is my last question, I have taken 44 units so far, and 14 units wll be completed in this semester. I know that USC will not look at my SAT score and high school GPA, but Do you mean that although I took more than 30 units. if I took SAT tests before, it is still required to send those scores anyway? Thanks very much for your sincere response. :) USC is great!

When you login into SIG, it'll show pending documents they are expecting in order to complete your application. There is spots for transcripts and SAT scores. If you don't send them in, they will consider your application incomplete.

Doryx> Thanks very very much for your sincere response. Have a great night! :)

Remember, you can only satisfy 4/6 of the ge categories. Something like category 4 and 6. These HAVE to be done at USC.

you do not need your SAT scores AT ALL
transfer forms never mentioned about adding an official SAT score or w/e
if u apply online just leave it blank if you do NOT wish to provide ur sat score
if u have more than 30 units well preferably above 45 they will NOT CONSIDER your SAT/ACT as part of the admission process

you CAN leave out the SAT/ACT totally blank on the online application
i even have an e-mail from the admissions office instructing me to do so
so

WTH is with all these mixed answers

when was there a form requesting SAT scores?
USC Undergraduate Admission: Admission: Transfer Admission Process: How to Apply as a Transfer Student
in those steps
WHERE does it say submit SAT scores?

Yea I guess it really depends. Two of the USC counselors told me to send it in, but that could because I was a sophomore transfer. But if you really think about, if you have more than 30+ units, what would you lose by submitting your SAT scores. Like you said, they disregard it if you have 30+ units, but it's better to be safe than sorry. But hey what do I know. Just cause I went through the transfer process and receive positive results, I'm no expert.

You guys shouldn't think your SAT scores is poison to your application. I got a 1850 on my SAT and USC still accepted me.
