No, he attends next fall. I’m sure he’ll love it. He’s very social and will bring a lot to that part of campus life, and the girls should brace themselves, he’s very cute too. Now whether he graduates is another story, he’s not the worlds most motivated student and his parents place little value on education.

wow, that makes me feel a little better. Do you know the date he found out?

Edit: Just saw that she said early-D!!

Gjohnson, keep checking in, they should update soon.

eyemamom, I hope your family member does better than what you describe in class. (Sounds like a typical semester-n-out student) Many students who go to HPU for social fail out very quick.

My son is a sophmore, a Business Major, and really likes the school. He lived in Finch his freshman year and loved it, and made a ton of friends. Comdisco is correct, the work load and level of difficulty increased dramatically from my sons freshman to sophmore year. My son was accepted at a number of quality LAC’s and as far as I can see he made the right decision for himself.

MJP brings up a great point for all guys: LIVE IN FINCH. Least fancy dorm on campus, but easiest place to meet people and awesome location.

I got in!!!

Congrats!! I bet those ECs really helped! GREAT job getting involved to set yourself apart! Are you officially coming in the fall or do you have some thinking to do still?

I go to school in Beverly, MA but I live in Lynn. I commute everyday since freshman year. I started off in a transition program but then moved on to take regular classes and Honors and I took a AP class my junior year. Basketball is the only sport i play but i work 30+ hours a week. I been working at a local sub shop since 2010. I won awards such as most improved sophmore and got class marshal. I have a 3.4 and I’m ranked 87/257. I got a 1100 on my SAT’s, so I’m worried. Reason why is so low is because I only took it once and that was on Jan. 28, 2012 of my senior year. I didn’t take PSAT’s either. So I went and took it blind pretty much. If I could prep for it and take it again I’m sure I could do better. Will this hurt my chances of getting into High Point University?

I think it is hard to give a specific answer as to the admission process to High Point University. The University lists the academic profiles of the current Freshman Class, so that may help you benchmark your scores/GPA but it is very difficult to give a straight answer. It appears you have worked very hard in anything and everything that you do and you have managed to obtain a very respectable GPA and solid test scores. You should certainly take a trip down to High Point to visit the University, because you will be able to meet one on one with your academic advisor and get more knowledgable answers from the people who ultimately make those decisions. I don’t think anyone can really tell who will and will not be admitted to the University but you seem to be doing very well and I hope you keep up the good work!

Thank you. I just applied for rolling admissions almost two weeks ago and I should know if I am accepted or not very shortly. Should I still visit?

Absolutely, it couldn’t hurt and it’d be great to experience the campus for yourself.
