Questions

If I got one C & one B on trigonometry in 9th grade and one C on Java in 10th grade , and one B on pre-calculus in10th grade, then rest of are all A’s. Is it possible for me to get accepted by any good colleges? Will these C’s effect a lot on my college applications even if my other are good? Please help!

  1. It depends upon how you define "good" colleges.
  2. Some colleges do not take into account your Freshman year grades for GPA calculations while many do but one C will not hurt your chances significantly.
  3. If you continue to do well in your classes through Junior year, there are many many colleges that will accept you.
  4. Upward grade trends are also a positive.

Continue to do your best, see where you stand at the end of Junior year, look at doing some test prep, get involved in EC’s you love and you should be fine.

Wow, I thought there was no hope with these 2 C’s even if I will get good grade after that, and now I see the light. Thanks so much!

Hi,
Your grades are good overall, don’t worry, colleges will be sure to see the number of good grades you have compared to your C’s.

Good luck with your college journey!!!

Good advice for you: on forums such as this, please title your posts more succinctly. “question” or “help please” or “admission question” are easily forgettable. You might say “Effect of early mediocre grades: advice please”

Sure, will do. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much! I will try my best
