Hey, thanks @infuzing.
First question, in your opinion, where is the best place to live on campus: North or South? Also, if you are aware, how is the engineering program at UB?
Easily north, south is pretty far and takes about 15-20 min by bus to get to north where most/all classes will be especially if you’re going in as an engineer. You are going to want to live in north primarily in the Elicott complex where it houses tons of freshman and is the biggest residential hall on campus. This also means you can easily meet more people too. As for the engineering program, it is top notch, the professors are not easy and make you work for your degree but in the end the degree is very reputable from a great engineering school. I’d say the best SUNY engineering program in the system.
Yea I was thinking of going on North. When I submit my deposits and such, if I say I prefer to live on North Campus (specifically Ellicott), will it be guaranteed for me? @infuzing
never any guarantees, but a good shot at getting north. Pretty sure it is organized by when people submit their deposits.
I’m not a student but my son is an engineering student at Buffalo. He is happy there, is challenged by the courses. North is definitely more convenient to the engineering school. Do get deposit in early though if you want North! He had a choice of living on a dorm floor in Ellicott with other engineering students which can be nice if you want to work on problem sets in a group.
