What are mattress pads used for and are they necessary?

I’m gonna be using the school’s computers so should I use a USB cord to save papers and stuff or just a regular disk?

Where’s a good place to find cute bed set in twin XL (my mother and I went shopping and couldn’t find any extra long ones)

I can’t think of anymore at the moment but I’ll add more later and others feel free to. Thanks people

Mattress pads are pretty much to keep you from being in direct contact with the mattress itself. That's for obvious reasons.

I assume when you say "USB cord" you are referring to a portable USB drive (also called a thumb drive or a jump drive)? If so, then yes it's a much better way of storing and transporting information as opposed to disks since they carry much more information, are more durable, and many new computers don't have floppy drives anymore. I'd recommend getting at-least a 256MB capacity USB drive, although if you can afford a 1GB, that'd be even better.

I can't really help you with the last one, I bought my linens through the school.

Mattress pads are for comfort...those mattresses in colly suck...and, like Alex said, to keep from coming in contact directly with that filthy thing

Get a portable hard drive, a small one...even better then the 1 or 2 gig flash drives

I have to agree with FerstAmmendment, if you can find a comparably priced portable hard-drive, then go for that over a flash drive unless size is a major concern.

Definatly get a mattress pad

Definately have a jump drive. It was a lifeline for me last year as an hs senior. I can't imagine being without it in college!

Go to Linens N' Things or Bed Bath and Beyond, or some department store. They'll have twin XL because so many college kids need them. You can get a twin XL Bed in a Bag for around $100. It really is a good deal; it will include a bedskirt, fitted sheet, flat sheet, comforter, and one standard size pillow case and sham.

matress pads cover your mattress so your sheets dont go directly on the icky used mattresses.

yes, get a jump drive. Get a few actually

JC Penny has really good sheets at low prices and they are more durable and typically better priced than those at Target. They often go on sale to. If you want a bed in a bag, go to Sears. They pretty much always have some on sale

Well if you have some webspace u can just upload your stuff on to it and download it from whatever computer...(well most computers at school have internet connections.) hasn't failed me yet... I wouldn't do it with something huge though.. just like text files..

I also used my mp3 player and digital camera as my jump drive, haha.

some schools also have shared network drives accessible with your username and password. you can save stuff onto there and it works pretty well, and only you can see your stuff, others cant
