I graduate from HS May 24th, 2008. I plan on enrolling in college on June 6th, 2008 for the summer semester. How many classes should I take?

Also, if I can get some examples of schedules, that would be nice...I am majoring in Biology by the way.

also, whats a manageable course load? 16-18 hours?

For a summer semester, you're usually capped at 9 hours. Summer semesters (at least at my school) last about 5 weeks, and you go to the same class every day of the week. I'm in 6 hours right now, and it's pretty tough (I'm about to be a senior in college, and have previously only take 3 hours each summer semester).

Schedule:
MTWRF: Second part of US History 11-12:50
MTWR: American Literature 1-3
MTW: tutor in the library 3-4

Yeah, summer sessions are much more intense b/c of the shortened number of weeks.

Normal spring/fall semesters, it varies from school to school what's normal, but 15 is pretty standard.

For summer, it depends how long the summer semester is. At my school we have 2 5 week and 1 10 week sessions (10 weeks is the whole summer, the 5 week ones are one the first half, one the second half of the summer). For the 10 week one, you could take about 9 hours (3 classes) without having too much trouble. For the 5 week ones, you're better off not taking more than 6 hours (2 classes) for each one. For fall/spring semesters, 12-18 hours is min/max here with 15 being about average. Our semesters are 16 weeks long.
