I want to have like 10 pairs of jeans and probably 21 shirts for college....

I am doing laundry at my house probably every other weekend (my house is 50 minutes from my university)

Will that last me 2 weeks?

And how many towels do you recommend bringing to college?

Also, I thought about buying like 3 deoderants to carry with me, as well as several bottles of shampoo and the like...do you recommend doing this?

Well you probably would be best off not going home every weekend. Personally, I would tops only bring clothes for a week or so and just do the wash. Trust me, you will NOT have room for all of those clothes in your room unless you get more storage. Since you're so close to home, you don't have to bring clothes for all seasons either (I have 2 boxes of clothes always under my bed because I only go home once a year so there's not really time to switch over clothes). It's not convenient.

I always keep 3 towels and 3 sets of sheets so I can always have one in use, one in the laundry bag, and one ready to use.

And I don't understand why you would have several deodorants and shampoo? It's not as if you're going to be on a deserted island... Deodorants last at least 3 months and shampoo should last you a month. It's not like you're not going to be near a store.

You're overthinking things. Just take your best jeans (You own 10 pair? You can make it two weeks on 5, easily) and whatever shirts you like. Since you do live so close if you end up not having enough you can get it pretty easily Also, don't go home every other weekend, you'll miss out on stuff.

You really don't need 10 pairs of jeans. You can rotate 4 or 5 easily. No, you don't have to wash them every time between wears. As for shirts, you probably won't have enough room in your closet for that many shirts. I would say bring a bunch of t-shirts/casual shirts like polos (maybe like 10), and a few (3-5) nicer shirts for going out, etc. That should easily last you 2 weeks without washing. Also, make sure to have enough underwear to last you that long too. It's really the underwear that dictates when you wash.

Also, as someone who went home alot fall of freshman year, I'd really advise you against it. I missed out on alot, and didn't really make any good friends until spring semester when I started staying at school and doing stuff on the weekends.

It's actually a horrible idea to wash your jeans more often than every like 8-10 wears...unless they get stained or something. And never put them in the dryer. They'll last a lot longer if you follow this advice. I seriously wash jeans maybe once every 4 months.
