No, just apply for LCT.

Move-ins in recent years have been on a Sunday, eight days before Labor Day. Classes start right after Labor Day, and freshman orientation takes plus during that full week before. You cannot move in before that Sunday (or after, as orientation activities start that evening.)

Parents usually accompany freshman for move-in, then leave. How are you going to manage all your belongings? If you just have two suitcases, guess you could do it on your own. But bedding and stuff take up alot of room.
We flew in several days before move-in day, rented a car, stayed with friends in the area, shopped at Costco and Walmart for things like bedding, detergent, etc. Drove in Sunday morning. Big line with all the freshmen, parents and belongings. Helpful to have two adults besides the student; after you unload at the curb, one watches your things, the other goes to park the car (we found parking fairly easily on the street.) Then the student can go find out what’s going on, talk to other kids, etc.

Picking classes: I think this was in June or July. But D is in Tisch drama, so first year is set as far as courses. For profs, check ratemyprofessor.com(?)

I really wouldn’t worry about one C, even if you got a few Bs instead of As. Now if you got three Ds, with no extenuating circumstances, that’d be another story.

(cont’d) The dorms don’t close until exams are over in May. They are open from late August to mid-May. So you can stay over during winter break, or leave several days after exams. Nice time to enjoy the city at Christmas-time. The dining halls are another story: they close at 4 PM on the last day of exams, and they don’t reopen until 4 PM the day before classes resume. But there are plenty of other places to eat.

thank you so much for taking the time to write that! it really helps :-)

Don’t worry about a C. I was accepted with a C in Calc BC the first two marking periods this year and I’m definitely not improving.

thats okay I got a F for gym one semester in high school.
