Hey whats up guys, I was wondering a couple things about classes.

First, what year do most people fulfill their general education classes. What would a typical freshman schedule in the business college look like. Is it mostly business classes your freshman year or general ed classes?
Also, is it required that you take a language if you want to major in business? And if so, how many semesters do I have to suffer through?

There are about 9 classes that are ‘entrance to major’ requirements for all business majors. These need to be completed by the end of sophomore year, so you would start taking them freshman year along with some gen eds. You do need to take a language, but only need to be proficient at level 3. Basically if you had 4 years of French in high school, you may be able to take only French 2 and 3 or just French 3 at PSU, skipping French 1. Of course if you take a language that you never studied in high school or only took 1 or 2 years of, you would probably need to take all 3 levels at PSU. You don’t need to start the language freshman year, as long as you’ve completed it by the time you graduate.

check this link…typically any cirriculum for any major has a prescribed path that you are to follow, but these rules typically apply accross the board

i was able to do the 3-6-9 scenario (got 6 credits for AP US history in high school so I got out of some reqs)

note that you need to take a multicultural elective for GA…i recommend History of Jazz.

you should talk to the school for what exactly you should consider your first semester…

I think that English 15 and SPcomm (#?) take up like 6 of those 9 GWS credits, and everyone usually takes those as freshman

For GHA, take either Nutrition or 2 sections of ESACTS
For GA, I took Comm 150 and History of Jazz
For GH, I took Econ 4, but that was enough
For GN, I took Astro 1 and got credit for Physics classes (from Engineering)
For GS, I took Soc1 and subbed AP History credit for the other 6 credits
