Questoin about AP Placement credits for Calculus AB test

In looking at the credits available for the AP Calculus AB test, I see the following on OSU’s website:

Calculus AB Exam

•Calculus AB- 3•Earns credit for Math 1151 (Calculus I)
•Permissible to enroll in:
•Math 1151 (Calculus I)
•Math 1156 (Calculus for the Biological Sciences)
•(Math 1152 or Math 1172 allowed but not recommended)

It says that a 3 on the AP Calc AB test earns you credit for Math 1151 but then it also says permissible to enroll in Math 1151. If you enrolled in Math 1151 then I assume you would not actually earn credits for that same course based upon your AP test results. Is that accurate?

I’m a current OSU student and I can probably answer you! It means that you’ve earned the credits for Calc I, but you have options here; You can use the credits towards your math requirement or take it again if you want/need it (depends on your program) . There will be math counselors at your orientation so they can help you out better than me and other CC users, but either way, you’ve earned credits from the test.
