Quetion about UM-Flint

Few weeks ago I got accepted University of Michigan-Flint and I was thinking about going to UM-Flint because of scholarship. But yesterday I found out that Flint is one of the most dangerous city in USA. I was wandering if UM-Flint is dangerous as well. Please help me thank you.

Flint didn't seem all that dangerous to me...
I lived by Flint for the whole year - and it was just fine.
btw I'm also applying to the UM-Flint.
How did you manage to get a scholarship to go there? The web-site says they don't give scholarships to internationals...

Where did you hear Flint is one of the most dangerous cities in the US? It's not.

"According to the FBI, Flint has one of the highest crime rates in Michigan (5538 incidents/100,000 residents), and in 2004 the second highest violent crime rate in the United States. Flint was recently named as the fourth most dangerous city in the United States in an evaluation by Morgan Quitno Press."

Have you ever seen the Roger & Me documentary by Michael Moore? It made Flint look really bad and rundown? Is it really like that? I believe he went to the Uni Of Michi, Flint.

I've heard it's really pretty bad.
But maybe the area around the school is ok, but just be careful you don't wander into a bad part at night on your own.
